The Etherwood tree is said to be the oldest type of tree, according to an ancient Creation Myth of the Befores. As such, some also believe the tree to possess magical power, which is why it was used extensively in potions, tinctures, and spells in the days before the Great Purge. The legendary Sword Tree of Gethalyn is an etherwood.
