An Commonocracy is one of several forms of government outside the traditional monarchy archetype. Unlike the other governments, which arose out of the chaos that ensured from the Curella plague, Scurn created the commonocracy years before that. Because they were the first nation to move away from the monarchy system, they have been revile by some. For example, Gruenormark imposed sanctions on them; they have a long-standing trade embargo in place with Scurn.
Compared to the real world, it is a sort of socialist republic. The country attends to the basic needs of its people -- food, healthcare, housing, and limited public education -- but the government does not own everything, which gives enterprising individuals a chance at a better future then the bare minimum.
