The Everwind is the local name of the perpetual wind gusts that are prevalent in the Verges region. It is what the Everwind Series is named after. Series writer Janden Hale claims the name came from his hometown of Casper, Wyoming, which is listed in the top five windiest spots in the United States. A common saying among the people of the Verges is "Everwind is ever wind."

Effects

Given that it is a prominent weather feature, a number of developments occurred as a direct correlation. The usage of the cowlstrap, the high-cell as punishment.

Cause

The true cause of the everwind is that there is a tremendous imbalance of magic; this unknown to the inhabitants that suffer from it. They are also unaware that this same phenomenon is experienced on the island of Vir, where the southern shores suffer an onslaught of constant rain, and in the deserts of Goldenmark, which is basically due to an imbalance of land magic.
