Chits are small scraps of interim currency used in place of the Clavic Gildan. They are essentially I.O.U.s used to placate the populace with the promise of payment, which often never comes.
Clavic Gildan
The Clavic Gildan, abbreviated as CLG, is the currency of Clavermark. Even though it is the newest form of currency, it is relatively stable because it is backed by Byrridium as a commodity; this is also said to be the reason behind rumors of the Emperor's plans for possibly invading Andermark in the future.
History
The coins began circulating early in the expansion campaign of the Clavic Empire. The Emperor sought to establish the currency by eliminating those of the nations he conquered. He ordered all currency from the invaded countries to be collected in exchange for Clavic chits until the coins could be melted and reminted as Clavic Gildans, thus making these new regions reliant upon the new coins and chits.
