Byrridium is a rare element that makes proto-power technology possible. It is one of the densest substances on Galwyndor; on Lesser Galwyndor it is found mostly in Andermark and regions of the Atlica Mountains. Due to the rarity and the high cost to mine, refine, and produce, protocell chargers are in rare and in high demand. Byrridium is also highly sought after by the Vurg, who are believed to have emerged from their homeland on the island of Vir because the substance is required to operate most of their technology. Some scholars in the know, such as Niril, speculate that the Vurg are running out of the resource, which is why they are forced out of hiding.
