Proto-power is a type of high-yield energy source used to power a number of advanced technologies in both pre- and post-Curella Galwyndor. The rare, extremely dense element Byrridium is needed for proto-power to work, and because it is expensive to mine, refine, and manufacture the technology, proto-power is rare and not cost-effective. Proto-power uses particle acceleration to generate and subsequently capture energy (a process which is performed by protocell chargers), which can then be stored in large quantities by protocells and then used as a source of energy. It is frequently called "milk".
