Glen was the pet cat that belonged to Patrin of Glengard at the Wornspire facility. The cat is left behind after the massacre there as a clue to Emperor Vralius as to who orchestrated the attack.
The Emperor drowns the cat after reading a note left behind by Patrin, and has it skinned so he could make something out of it.
