Gift of the Rook is an auxiliary short story by Janden Hale, which appeared on Solarcide.
Plot
The story is told from the perspective of Treylin Greyfell and opens with a brief description of Everwind City, followed by an account of Castus Renders's deft dispatch of a group of mercenaries, which earns them their next job.
