Wornspire is the name of the secret experimental facility where Talmage conducts medical experiments on captured people who are still able to reproduce. It is located near the Western edge of The Verges. It is also one of the most advanced structures in the known world, technologically. The facility is housed inside an ancient ruin hidden within the desolation of the Verges wasteland.
Laboratory
In 1321.6, Doctor Talmage was given the ruins at Wornspire for the creation of an advanced laboratory under the patronage of Vandor of Brant, then Daeken of Konor. At the time, that portion of the Verges was under Aeryl control. Work began on the construction of the laboratory, which took two full years to complete before Talmage could begin using it to conduct experiments, but he did what little work he could from a hasty lab he put together. A year after acquiring the location, the Arkaeni scholar Niril asked for use of his facility to continue investigation into the drug adoxipham, and Niril began collaborating with Talmage in 1322.6.
Once the Clavic Empire gained control of the Verges in 1333.9, Talmage petitioned Claverian for an audience, as he has lost his original patron. He invited the emperor to tour the facility, and the emperor saw the potential from having his very own mad scientist. A deal was struck which meant funding, but Talmage would also be in the employ of the empire from now forward. Several more upgrades were made to the facility, but never with Vurg technology. Shortly after acquiring the services of Talmage, the emperor sent Niril to Victurus to collaborate on another secret project. Within weeks of accepting the emperor's offer the facility began getting deliveries of people who could still reproduce.
