Haers is how many people of The Verges pronounce horse. Most long distance travel is done by horse, as technology is in decline and fuel for things such as turf racers are hard to come by. In the Verges haerses are fitted with special mask filters to keep the dust out due to the Everwind.

Notable Haerses
- The Outrider Edulon Dane rides a dapple gray mare named Fever, who is later acquired by Venicus Mor.
- Captain Bor Lerich rides a buckskin gelding named Ransom.
- Queen Caliana of Sable owns a bay mare named Whisper Dash, though being that it isn't native to the Verges, it is simply called a horse instead of a haers.
