The Meralian Accord was a multinational edict that officially outlawed the use of magic and made it punishable by death. This event set into motion the Great Purge and created a vast coalition of forces called the Great Army.
The Accord
As a result of the destruction caused by the 3rd Great War, a Meeting of Lords was called to the kingdom of Meralia to discuss a solution to the dangers posed by irresponsible magic use. The meeting, after much deliberation and spirited debate, ultimately decided to outlaw magic usage in a bid to protect the world from further destruction. For some, the complete removal of the threat posed by powerful magic-wielders was too tempting to pass up. For others, such as the Eari, the motive was preservation and responsibility. This was so that none would interfere with the Eari's drastic solution. There were also no representatives from the merfolk race, as this was thought to be a matter that didn't involve them and they were typically left to their own domain of the sea.
