Protocells are rechargeable high-capacity cells used to store proto-power. Usage of proto-power is extremely costly and limited due to the shortage of Byrridium, the element needed for proto-power technology to function. Protocell chargers are massive and sparse, which renders usage of proto-powered devices nearly obsolete. Protocells are needed to power any device that uses proto-power.
