Blanor the Burl was a mason who lived in what is now known as Gruenormark, who sparked the revolution which led to the 1st Great War. This was in the year 01220, during the 1st Age, known as the Age of Uprising. The Burl became incensed at their oppressors, the spellcasters who had come from across the sea and had controlled them for over 300 years, and orchestrated a party that successfully sabotaged a tower rookery in which the mage Saretis kept the white crows he used for casting spells and making tinctures.
Word spread quickly and Burl's actions inspired others to do likewise; soon there was a full revolution that became co-opted by rival spellcasters, culminating in a massive battle in what is now Lothlan.
