The Age of Chaos was the longest age, which lasted from the beginning of the 5th Great War (04887) until the Black Sam epidemic (11322). It was called the Age of Chaos because the world had been thrust into a state of chaos brought about by famine, drought, climate change, etc. The struggle for survival thrust the world into a state of predominantly intellectual and technological darkness (it was much like the Dark Ages).
