A vorshard is a type of stone that was rich with a substance called gleam which was thought to be what enabled life itself. According to the Inar creation myth, these shards rain down upon a world when a vordragon hatches, as they are pieces of the shell. According to ancient legend, these shards were the only thing that could destroy a vordark crystal.
