The Academy of Runes was an institute of magic prior to The Great Purge where the Runesworn Order of magickers studied their craft, which was specifically the crafting, interpretation, and inculcation of runes and glyphs. It was located in Khundur-Dal, an ancient citadel city in Maldenon.
