- "Surely you don't intend to rob it. The vault is in impenetrable, even to its keepers. Even so, attempting such a degree of madness would awaken the full might of the Hand of the Gale, and surely the Church would persuade any number of kingdoms to participate in your demise." - Brand, to Wedge in Path of the Outrider
The Vault of Wonders is a hidden catacomb contained deep below the Shrine of Tesh by Saent Dothen, and is said to contain many treasures that have been locked away since antiquity. It is inaccessible, even to the Tethuric Church who currently owns it. This vault is heavily guarded by the Hand of the Gale, as the Church retains the hope that they will one day discover a way to unseal the vault.
Also, unknown to anyone, the vault contains the Meninar-stone, which was the Eari Stone used against the Draol mage Atury during the Great Purge. The presence of the stone is the reason for the abysmal state of the Verges, as vordark is known to drain its surroundings over time.
