"The success of the Stones, and therefore the sole chance of our world's preservation, relies upon the unique ability of a cryptic and ethereal creature from the Lay of Shadow to detect the scent of fex in all its forms. Abducted from the darkness and conveyed to the Lay of the Moon, the wraigh can serve out a higher purpose." - from Codex Antifexa

A wraigh is a rare creature from the Shadow Lay, sometimes called shade hounds.

Some of these creatures now reside within the Moon Lay, placed there by the Eari for use in killing magic users. These wraighs are used by the Tal Calar to hunt down magic because they are able to smell magic in the Material Lay. They are not flesh and blood, but shadow. They can be summoned to the material plane by the Tal Calar in order to be used in hunting magic. The plural form is wraighs.
