Dwarves

The dwarfs, were a race of humanoid beings who existed in the time of the Befores. They originated in the mountainous region that would later become Torminal.

The dwarfs were initially one peoples, but like the elves, splintered into different groups as they expanded to explore new areas. Mostly this was caused by an invasion of humans known as the Ganennites. One main group moved west to form the kingdom of Maldenon, while another migrated east to form Krenvia.

Dwarfs were typically smaller and thicker in stature than their human counterparts, with coarse hair and fingernails. Unlike elves, who do not have the ability to grow facial hair, dwarfen culture demands that they grow beards.

Before the Purge

In the time of the Befores there also lived other races. At the time of the Great Purge, there were 8 in total. The Vurg, as far as was known at the time, did not yet exist.
