A carrier is the slang term for a pregnant woman. After the drastic proliferation of the Turmocet vaccine, nearly all of the population was rendered sterile. People who can reproduce are rare and in high demand - most are captured or sold to slavers at exorbitant prices for breeding or are taken for medical experimentation. Males who can reproduce are called "seeders".
