Norat Flats is a vast swath of flatlands in the Verges that stretches from Listhaven all the way south to Halfshaer and the foothills leading up to the Atlica Mountains. It is named so because they are "North of the Atlicas," hence the norat. The flats are especially suitable for travel by Turf Ship, although the placement of the flats means it is used mostly by brigands and trafficking of goods. The flats transition into the Silk Sands on the eastern side. Some nomadic tribes, such as the Thurvs are known to camp there.
