The Cleric's Guild of Shajin was a sect of magic-users who produced clerics that served in a religious capacity. They were headquartered at the Temple of Shajin. Their primary job was to allocate clerics to various religious orders who would use magic in connection with the divine. They performed blessings, enchantments, and ceremonies, as well as healing and protection. They also drove out evil spirits and performed oracles.

It was the Guild who established and got the Ygwer Code adopted as a universal standard of behavior amongst the schools, as the code was in use since the inception of the Ygwer School of Clerics. The compromise to accepting the code universally was to create a multi-discipline tribunal which had one representative each from the five major schools. A task force to support the tribunal was also created with agents from each of the disciplines called the Joint Illition Directorate. It was also the Guild who built and ran Ke'phal Prison, which was the only facility capable of holding magickers of any power.

Positions

There were a number of positions within the Guild, each with different roles and responsibilities.

The first was Cleric Acolyte, which was those in training at any Guild Temple. After they had been trained to perform basic prayers and healing, they were eligible to become a Guild Monk, who basically oversaw shrines and temples that were spread throughout the world. These monks would care for the local needy and sick under the supervision of a Cleric, who was capable of more advanced healing and blessings.

Those with a predilection for fighting could apply for training to become a Guild Paladin, who were essentially knight-clerics in charge of guarding temples and protecting important personnel, relics, etc. Once achieving the rank of Paladin, they would be initiated into the ranks of the Shajin Guard. Some monks were also able to perform protection duties when Paladins were not available. The Shajin Guard was also tasked with operating and guarding Ke'phal Prison, as well as aiding in the apprehension of magickers who violated the Ygwer Code.

The highest position a regular cleric could attain was Guild Prefect, who would serve as advisors and ambassadors among non-guild organizations. The leader of the Guild was the Cleric Superior.
