Varlina Macheli was a test subject of Dr. Talmage in the secret facility known as Wornspire. She appears in the story Wornspire and is mentioned in Path of the Outrider. She was the acting Dorm Mayor, responsible for allocating work details and scheduling extracurricular activities. She was killed in the massacre at Wornspire by the Lightsprawl Order.
Plot
Varlina was the acting Dorm Mayor for the Carriers. She was the first to be elected to the position because she is the only subject who comes from nobility, being the daughter of Lord Rom Macheli of the House Macheli. Her nobility is another reason the others are reluctant to elect anyone else, such as Lorin. Her primary tactic was intimidation and using her power to get cooperation by threatening people with shitty work details, remedial school work, or taking away rewards. A lot of this was done through her proxy, Richelle, who had a secret love crush on her.
