The Eldinar were the first of the Inar, or elves. They predate the original gods, with the exception of Grellis, the sentient primordial stone deity responsible for creation of the world. Because they were created by Grellis, they equaled the gods in certain power, primarily the amount of omnicrux they had in them; it was enough to make them immortal. Because of this, the gods were always jealous of them.
They, unlike the gods, could not create creatures, but they could travel unimpeded between all the Overlay Realms. They also were incapable of reproducing, just like the gods.
Creation Myth
According to the ancient religion of Grellism, the Eldinar were created by Grellis when he filled the world with creatures. The existence of the Eldinar ultimately led to the creation of the humans, dwarfs, and merfolk by the gods Orend, Drend, and Helirend, because they were jealous of them. Given that they were created by Grellis, they contained more of the omnicrux, or magical essence of Grellis, than the other races.
