Wulgár's Maze was a massive, underground series of multilevel labyrinths construction beneath the Hall of Deranon. The construction was ordered by the dwarf King Wulgár of Maldenon to protect the Dwarf-stone after Meninar raiders stole the Man-stone from its Tal Calar by guardian in Gadonia.

The dwarves believed their stone would bring them great fortune, as the Purge had also eradicated the elves and the meninar, putting the dwarves in a position of great power. This attitude was reinforced after the theft of the other stone. They sought to guard their relic with greater intensity.

Construction

In response to the theft, King Wulgár ordered all the engineers to construct a vast, multilevel series of labyrinths beneath the Hall of Deranon to further protect the stone. He employed the most skilled scholars of the Runesworn, which were all now dead, to retrieve any rune-imbued stonework to be repurposed for the project. This proved to be tricky, however, as keeping enchantments intact required that they not become activated in the process, as the Eari Stone would then steal the magic. It is said that they never ceased building on this gargantuan structure.

Many years later, during the Time of Decay, when other dwarves migrated to Lesser Galwyndor, the dwarves of Maldenon sought refuge within their labyrinths, hoping that their stone would provide them the power to withstand the hardship. This ill-devised plan sealed their fate, and they essentially entombed themselves forever.
