It is sourced directly from plantlife, which was considered to contain the skin of Grellis. It should be noted that only the Eari and schools descended from that order call it gernafex, which is named after the ancient goddess of nature, Gerna. Pure gernafex was used by the Eldinar to create the palanem race.
