Template:Infobox nobility A viceroy is a rank and title appointed by a king, emperor, or other sovereign power to act as governor over a region in their stead. The Emperor Vralius appointed several viceroys upon conquering their lands as a way to gain their allegiance, essentially allowing a lesser house to rise in station. The title can be given to an individual or to a ruling house.
